There is a legal term which appears in contracts. It is usually under a section called “force majeure”.
It means,”chance occurrence, unavoidable accident”, is a common clause in contracts that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described by the legal term act of God (hurricane, flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract.”
The term I want to pay attention to here is “act of God”.
This is a legal term to describe natural disasters.
This of course does not mean the natural disaster is a result of God acting. It is a term or a phrase describing natural disasters.
